INTERACTIVE DEVIATION OF ROAD IDOR CHEVRON … Where its is not possible to locate an advance warning of the curve with a VATCS or where the severity of the curve calls for additional advisory warning, DV have developed the IDOR Chevron. The product combines the exact same vehicle speed activated principles of the VATCS with the intelligent wireless communications technology of the SynchroGUIDE.

The first IDOR Chevron incorporates the radar vehicle detection and when triggered by excessive speed communicates wirelessly with all other chevrons on the curve to create an interactive directional warning aid to the approaching driver of the curvature/deviation of the road.

The IDOR Chevron is available in two sizes to suit road speed and are either AC or Solar powered. The IDOR product is currently being trialled in the UK to determine its long term effectiveness , but DV are confident the philosophy behind the technology and its close relation to the all ready proven VATCS product will ensure this a tool traffic engineers should consider adding to their current toolbox of safety aids.
